Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing System: Best Cleansing Tool

Expensive but soooooo worth it.

Developed by the lead inventor of the Sonicare toothbrush,
Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing gently clears pores and removes makeup,
resulting in healthier, more beautiful skin.
It cleanses so well that skin care products absorb better,
pores appear smaller, and your skin's tone and texture improve.
Just one minute a day, for the best skin of you life.

What I actually have is the Clarisonic Mia which is the cheapest model amongst all the Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing Systems available. Aside from the price, the three models have different speed settings as well, with the Mia having just one - the normal speed.

Mia - USD149.00 or Php6,309.00
Classic - USD195.00 or Php8,257.00
Plus - USD225.00 or Php9,527.00

There is actually another model, the Pro, which is similar to the Plus. The Pro has an additional speed setting and it is exclusively available to skin care professionals.

What the Clarisonic promises:
  • Leaves skin feeling and looking healthier
  • Removes 6X more makeup than cleansing with hands alone
  • Helps skin care products absorb better
  • Pores appear smaller
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduces oily areas, dry skin patches and blemishes
  • Gentle enough for use twice a day
  • Soft, non-abrasive for different skin types
It's almost been four months since I started using the Clarisonic. I am so glad that I took the plunge and bought gifted myself with one. After the first use, I immediately felt how incredibly soft my skin was, which I never thought was possible. I did try to cleanse my face, with full makeup on, and it was amazing how dirty and muddy the brush got after a minute. Hahaha. I know it's gross but this thing really removed all my makeup (well, except for the eye area where you can't use the Clarisonic on! Users are advised to remove eye makeup manually with a makeup remover prior to washing). It always makes me smile every time I swipe a cotton ball soaked with toner post-cleansing and find no to very very little dirt residue. I love it!

The Gentle Hydro Cleanser that came with the unit was awful. It broke me out after I used it. I threw that away and just continued to use Pond's Pure White Deep Cleansing Facial Foam which is my regular cleanser. Charging takes a long time though, 18 hours to be exact. The charger that came with my Mia is a universal charger so no need to worry about voltage issues, especially when traveling. A fully charge unit will give you 20 minutes of usage which is more than half a month for me. I use the Clarisonic once a day only, I tried using it twice a day but I found that it made my skin feel raw and dry. I use the brush head that came with the unit which is the sensitive kind. I thought I would need the normal one but the sensitive brush head is just fine for me. You are, however, advised to change brush heads in three to four months time. Brush heads retail for USD25.00 or Php1,059.00 a piece or USD40.00 or Php1,694.00 for a twin pack.

Overall, I love how it improved my skin. I still get blemishes here and there but I noticed they only appear before I get my period or when I'm super super stressed. I can now step out of the house with minimal makeup. Even though my Mia only has one speed setting and is not built to use on the body, I am very happy with it. I've actually read that some Mia owners are able to use it on their body (by switching to the normal brush head) with positive results. The Clarisonic is very expensive but for something that works well, it is worth the investment. I suggest you shop around for discounted prices to save even just a bit. Amazon.com has a lot of good deals. :)
