DIY: Chart Your Makeup Stash

OMG. I saw this on Pinterest and I just had to share this idea with you. I think this is by far the coolest way to keep an inventory of your personal makeup collection! Can you spell A-W-E-S-O-M-E???

Bust out your makeup, a nice piece of blank paper and draw and swatch away! It would probably be a good idea to laminate it afterwards to keep it from getting dirty and smudging the swatches. I so want to do this but I don't think it would be a good idea to do so with all my stuff. I'd probably stress myself out grouping my stuff together and make the swatches fit in few pieces of paper as possible. :(

Day 6 to 10: Makeup School

This continues my adventures in makeup school, Maquillage Professionel.

DAY 6: Smoky Eye

The school has a different approach when it comes to smoky eye makeup. They're not just limited to the usual colors of black, brown, blue, green and violet. In Maquillage Professionel, you can use ANY color you want as long as you use just one color and achieve that diminishing or smoky effect.

Best Brush Cleanser: Becca Professional Brush Soap

There are so many brush cleansers out in the market. I've used those instant and quick-drying ones but I always believed that they don't thoroughly clean the brushes unlike when you shampoo them. For shampooing, I use a baby shampoo for brushes that uses powder products and a dish washing liquid soap for brushes that uses liquid and cream products. And I hate shampooing my brushes. It's just so hard to rinse off the shampoo or soap. I always end up having to rinse my brushes again for at least three times. And it's just too tedious (and painful for my back). I know of some makeup artists who  taught their helpers how to clean their brushes but I just can't bear the thought of entrusting my precious tools to another person who doesn't share the same amount of love and care for my things.

Beauty Tip # 6

Trying to be adventurous with colorful eyeliners like teal or emerald green? 

Rim your inner lash line with a black eyeliner to make the color liner pop out. 

This doesn't just emphasize your eyes but it also gives them depth and a sultry appeal. 

This tip also works great on those who have big eyes and would want them to appear smaller. 

Line your upper and lower lash line with a black eyeliner. On the lower lash line, make sure that the line towards the outer corner of the eyes is thicker that the line towards the inner corner. Don't forget to smudge the eyeliner, set it with eyeshadow and blend to make it long-lasting and soft looking.

Use a khol pencil for lining your inner lash line. It is the safest to use in that very sensitive area.

Earlier this week, I wrote about going back to makeup school. To continue my adventures in Maquillage Professionel, here are my school works:


DAY 2

We learned about contouring and eyebrows on our second day. I forgot my camera again *toink* and good thing is, my model, my good friend Annika, brought hers. Thank you Annika for tirelessly modelling for me (she has modeled for me a couple of times when I had my makeup classes in Center for Aesthetic Studies four years back). She wrote about our whole makeup session in her tumblr.

If you want to do a natural-looking stained look on your lips, 

here's how you can do-it-yourself if you don't have a lip stain. 

Grab a berry colored lipstick (the darker, the better), preferably in matte, 

dab on your lips with your finger and add a touch of balm 

to make your lips look naturally healthy.

I've been wanting to take another makeup class since last year. It's either I go abroad or go to Maquillage Professionel here in Manila. So when Deal Grocer offered a 40% discount on Maquillage Professionel's Module 1 class, I grabbed the deal.
