Bobbi Brown is Marrakesh Chic

'Tis the season to be makeup crazy as new makeup collections for Fall 2011 are out and about. I am always excited to see the new products and the corresponding makeup looks of the different cosmetic brands. DROOL!!!

Bobbi Brown's Fall 2011 Marrakesh Chic Collection is inspired by the makeup maven's trip to Morocco two years ago, particularly during a trip to the market of Marrakesh where there is an abundance of rich colors from items in the market - fabrics, rugs, spices, etc.

Aside from new colors added to the different lip color formulations, the collection debuts the limited edition Rich Color Eye Shadow in eight wearable shades. These have powder-to-cream formula and uses the Soft Press Technology which gives the powder its creamy feel. Waxes are evenly distributed and melted into the powder thus making the eye shadow smooth, soft and easy to apply. It gives an elastic, second-skin finish that melts onto lids with incredible adherence.
Clockwise From Top Left: Sand Dune, Pink Silk, Rich Kashmir, Wine, Coffee Bean, Royale, Rich Slate, Desert Lily

A Birthday Card & a Challenge

I have a ton of scrapbooking materials and I barely use them anymore. I do not scrapbook but I love making paper crafts like cards, gift tags and whatnot. I love it when I am forced to bust out my supplies and whip up something for someone special. This time it's for the husband. It's his birthday! :)

I didn't know where to start so I needed some inspiration. I visited 365 Cards, it's a blog that challenges their readers to create a card based on the blog's featured layout or sketch. And they have a new one every single day, hence the blog name. I used to join card challenges quite often. Not to win but because it's a great place to start off and also be inspired by the works created by the readers. Check them out here.

This is the sketch I drew inspiration from:

Day 237: Super Sketchy Sunday

And here's what I came up with:

It was pretty fun making this card. I hope to make more in the future. :)

To my amazing husband, I wish you happy happy birthday filled with lots of love! :)

Becca A/W 2011 Trend Report

I recently attended a Becca event at Adora where the Australian brand launched their fall collection - Lost Weekend (more on that soon!). Aside from their new collection, they also talked about Fall 2011 makeup trends and provided us with visuals to take home with instructions on how to recreate the runway looks. Big thanks to the Becca team for allowing me to share the beauty report on my blog! :)

Beauty Tip # 11

Using the right kind and size of brush is important when doing your eye makeup.
For a dark and intense eye color, the smaller, the better.
A small pencil brush or a modestly sized tapered blending brush (see photos below)
is perfect for application and blending in the eye crease area.
Anything bigger or fluffier will just diffuse and scatter the eye shadow.

Sigma E45 Small Tapered Blending Brush

Another thing to remember is to start with a light application.
It is easier to make your eye makeup darker than make it lighter.

Review: Make Up For Ever Flash Case

I finally have it!!!

Make Up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case
If you've been reading my blog, this is the top item in my makeup wish list. I used MUFE's flash color sticks a lot when I took a refresher makeup class recently and I just loved them! This is their economical version. There are 12 more colors that are not included in this palette but this is just perfect, in my opinion. Colors can be mixed up to get the shade you need.

NARS Kabuki Brush Set

Look what I stumbled upon... Not that I need another set of brushes, but aren't these just gorgeous?

NARS Limited Edition Kabuki Brush Set

The set costs USD225.00 or about Php9,730.00. Expensive for a 5-piece brush set, if you ask me. But more than for its real purpose, it's a decorative set to prettify your vanity table. I wonder if this would be available here in Manila.

Beauty addicts, would you buy this set? :)

Christmas Stocking

I found this post last night - 150 Stocking Stuffer Ideas. I thought, this could be a great Christmas tradition to start with my kids and husband.

I don't know with other Filipino families but our Christmas stockings were used just for decorative purposes. As I was going through the list of stocking stuffer, I wondered, how does it exactly work? Are the gifts inside the Christmas stocking different from the usually big special present that parents give their kids? Am I supposed to wrap each small gift that goes in the stocking? From whom are the "stuffer" gifts supposed to be - the parents? the whole family - siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins? Santa?

Window Shopping: My Habit

Last night, at about 12:02am (technically it was morning already), I had a hard time logging in on My Habit and it was like the Missoni for Target experience again. I really wanted to see the Marc by Marc Jacobs Sunglasses that they were selling. Well, the selection wasn't so great and by the time I was able to view the choices, the one I liked was reserved in another member's cart which basically means they've sold out.

Marc by Marc Jacobs 143 Sunglasses - From USD85.00 to USD59.00

Renegade Folk's Closing Out Sale

I found out about the sale here.

I shopped here and here.

And here are the shoes I bought:

British Summertime in Olive - From Php1,750.00 to Php999.00
Talk To Me in Pale Yellow/Tan - From Php1,750.00 to Php999.00
Apron Strings in Reddish Brown - From Php2,850.00 to Php1,499.00

It's Alive!!!

I'm back. And I am happy to report that my MacBook Pro is alive - with all my files and even better apps. Thanks to the guys at Liteware Computers. They saved my life.

Yep, I know, I need to clean my desktop. Hahaha.

Apologies... MacBook Crashed

I really like working on my blog. And it's just amazing when I see that people are actually viewing (and hopefully reading) what I share here (through the view count). I decided I wanted to be more dedicated with what I have been doing and for the past two months, I have tried to do a post every single day. There are days when I fail to post an entry but I would always make up for it the following day. Things got pretty busy for me last week and then something horrible happened to my MacBook Pro. The hard drive crashed.

Product Review: Suesh Brush Guards

I store the brushes I use for work in a tool belt which I fold and place inside a dust bag then place in a travel bag together with a bunch of other stuff. Because the bag is cramped and there are a lot of brushes in the tool belt, I often times find some of my brush heads misshaped (they do go back to their original shape after a little while or after washing). These brush guards are just the thing I need.
