AWESOME FINDS: Washi Tape

Happy Monday!!!

Do you know what washi tape is? Have you seen one? Let me start by saying it is just the prettiest and cutest thing! And I mean REALLY pretty!!!

Washi Tape
So what is washi tape? According to sheknows.com, the best way to describe washi tape is that it feels like masking tape — very, very pretty masking tape. It's made of paper, but is not as delicate as one would expect. Washi tape originated from Japan, the land of kawaii or cuteness. It is made from natural fibers, such as bamboo or hemp, but most commonly from the bark of trees that are native to Japan — the mulberry, the mitsumata shrub or the gampi tree.

Washi tapes can be affordable and expensive. A roll would cost anywhere between USD1.50 (Php62.00) to as much as USD$35.00 (Php1,460.00) per roll. And with so much designs to choose from, collecting would require a lot of moolah to burn. And here is why I have an awesome find. I found a set of five for just Php132.50 (USD3.17)!

Marine Set
Earth Set
This is to show you how much tape you get per roll. It's not much but they cost so little so I'm getting what I paid for.

And to see the designs better, here are the tapes on paper:

You may ask what you could possibly do with all these tapes... A LOT, I tell you!!!

5. Keyboard

Aren't they adorable? Google "washi tape" and you'll find more projects!
Oh and if you're bordering to obsession, you might want to check out this washi tape printer. A freaking printer!!! OMG!!! My makeup kit would be ridiculously cute with these labels!!!
Coharu Label and Tape Printer - USD89.00 (Php3,720.00)
Anyhoo, All About Scrapbooking Washi Tapes are available at National Bookstore (I wonder if they have other sets than the ones I already got). Try these other local suppliers as well: Lasting Impression, Hey Kessy and Quaint Desk. If you don't mind paying for international shipping, you'll find a gazillion on Etsy. :)

Hugs,

  5. Found the one at NBS kaso you're right, you get what you pay for. The strips are so thin kaya i need to cut a lot to fill a space which is a little time consuming. So far the cheapest i found is facebook.com/washiworks for the regular sized washis and can do meetup near my area.
