Tutorial: Eyebrow Grooming - Part 2
As promised, here's the continuation of yesterday's tutorial where I showed how to shape eyebrows by tweezing and trimming the hair. Often times, a well manicured set of brows still need definition especially if there are "bald" spots or areas with fine hair and they're not very visible - like in my case. And when you trim your eyebrows, tendency is they'll look thin and scarce so it is best to fill them in to even them out.
Here are the things you'll need:

Tutorial: Eyebrow Grooming - Part 1
I don't really wear a lot of makeup but I rarely step out of the house without my essentials. Even if it's not full-face makeup, a little goes a long way. A lot of women do not wear makeup at all but we all really should. Makeup products are there to help us and make us more beautiful. If you don't know how to put on makeup, it's time to learn it. If you find it difficult to put on makeup, just practice. Practice really makes perfect. No more excuses.
For me, the most important feature to work on are the eyebrows because they frame your face. You can skip a lot of things in your makeup routine but a well-groomed set of eyebrows is the key to a polished look. So I've decided to do a two-part tutorial (my first-ever!) on eyebrow grooming. Today will be about shaping your eyebrows. Here are the things you'll need:

Steamy!!!
Someone's really happy with her new toy!
I've always wanted a garment steamer and I finally got one, thanks to my husband who gave me Rustan's GCs for my last birthday! :) And to show my appreciation, I always offer to steam his clothes. With love. Hahaha.
So far, I've ruined two of my tops already. 0_o I guess it's really true what they say, you learn from experience. Hahaha.
Have a steamy week ahead! ;-p

Sunday Brunch + Baby Shower
I organized a baby shower yesterday for a dear friend, Chichi. It was a small, cozy and intimate gathering. Nonetheless, we had a great time! :) I loved planning and preparing for the get-together and it was the perfect excuse for me to inject some DIY projects. You know how much I love and live for these kind of moments. :)
Here are the handmade creations:
And this is the best red velvet cupcake one will ever find. Seriously!!! The cupcakes were made by Cay Cuasay, the genius behind Cupcake Lab.
Since we were a small group, I realized it may not be the best idea to have games. Besides, I didn't want us to disturb the other diners (we were in a cafe) because believe me, we can get very, very NOISY! Hahaha. :) So instead, I thought we could do something different - design onesies, bibs and mittens!
Aaaaaaaaand here are our works of art:
No baby shower would be complete without opening of presents:
And here is the rest of the bunch:
So that wraps up yesterday's brunch. We had a super fun time with our DIY activity! And we all can't wait to meet the new boss! Hahaha! :)
Have a great week ahead! :)

This is the topiary centerpiece I made. With love, of course. :)
And I also made this poster.

First Haircut
I took my babycakes to a kiddie salon to get her first haircut last Wednesday. She's almost three years old. Finally.
This is her ride.
Fixated on watching Cars on TV.
Her peg.
She said she wants her Pinypon's pink hair. I set the small doll on the table near the TV so her hairsylist (naks!) can see it for reference. Thank goodness she didn't ask for pink-colored hair.
Ta-daaaaaaaah! Her new 'do.
Okaaaay, slightly fail ang peg. Her hair is shorter than what I asked for. But it suits her so that's fine. She looks like Dora. :)
My Dora with the big blue bear in Bonifacio High Street.
Since this was her first haircut ever, I took a bunch of her freshly cut hair as remembrance but they don't look anywhere near a baby's hair. And when we got home, her ate (big sister) was kind of bummed that we didn't bring her with us (she was still in school when we left). She said she also wants the same haircut. She's turning nine. I hope she's not serious. She's too old to have Dora hair. :)
Anyway, have a happy weekend, guys! :)

Nail Polish Review Part 1 - Sand
During a trip to 168 with my cousin last week, we scored some pretty awesome and cheap bottles of nail polish. Normally, we don't buy cheap nail polish (I've stopped doing so years ago because they're usually of poor quality which is really just a waste of money) but we couldn't resist. Here's what I got:
I've been finding myself complaining that there's nothing to buy in 168 nowadays. Usually, I leave that mall with loads of purchases but during my recent trips in the past year or two, I end up with stuff I don't really need. But these nail polishes are fab finds!
First up in this three-part review is the Crystal Sand Nail Polish in #19.
This is my favorite among the three. It's an orange-y peach color with very small particles of shiny sand. In person, it's not actually shiny or glossy. I think the base has a matte finish and it's the shiny sand that creates the shimmer. The texture of the nail polish is coarse which is like the surface of a nail file but with a softer-touch-feeling. So pretty! I love staring at them! :)
I didn't apply a base coat (I actually ran out, must get a bottle soon!) and as per the instructions of the sales lady, I didn't apply a top coat as well. So what I have on my nails is just the nail polish.
So, how about the staying power, you may ask? AMAZING. I'm on my fourth day wearing it and no chips at all!!! I even cleaned and shampooed my makeup brushes last night but still no damage. Which actually leaves me a bit nervous, should I actually be worried? Hahaha. I wonder what's in this nail polish... I'm hoping that I won't get super yellow stains on my nails when I take this polish off.
I'll continue the review next week when I change my nail polish. So there's the Matte dark purple and the Magnetic bronze-y one. The magnetic polish is super cool! I'll show you why next time! :)
The Crystal Sand and Matte nail polish are Php100.00 each and you get a free bottle when you buy two (I got my cousin's freebie, thank you M!). The magnetic polish with the magnet stick is Php150.00/set. You can get just the polish for Php100.00 and the stick for Php60.00. The brand is BK. I totally forgot to get the name of the store or the stall number, sorry. But it's on the second floor, a corner stall, on the side of the newer wing near some food stalls. When I get a chance to visit again, I'll make sure to get their info. :)

Finally Done!
Sorry for the lack of posts. I have been busy working on my makeup portfolio website. What seems like a never-ending task of resizing hundreds of photos, uploading them on flickr and posting them in groups with credits, I have finally finished my project. I have been dreaming about having my own .com site for a long time already but since hiring a web developer is very expensive, I used tumblr as my base site (sorry, I do not know the proper techie term) and bought a domain name and linked it to my tumblr account. My DIY efforts in digital and techie levels!!! :)
Anyhoo, without much further ado, here is my website:
Anyhoo, without much further ado, here is my website:
* The web address is a little wonky. Sometimes, the site doesn't load right away and an error message appears. I noticed the same thing happens with other tumblr accounts linked with a domain name. I hope this gets fixed right away! Or if you know how to fix this, please leave a comment below. Anyway, if this happens, just refresh until the site loads. Thanks! :)
The main feature I wanted to have in my website was for visitors to be able to view my works in categories. Took me a while before I was able to figure out how to make them!
So, there. Another task to scratch off my long to-do list!!! Yipeeeeeeeeeeee!!! :)
Oh, by the way, I also have a link to my makeup portfolio site at the upper right side of this blog. ---------> CLICK IT! :)
