Bangkok Haul - Part Deux

Shopping in airports is the best! Well, not in our airports. Seriously, we have the most kawawa airports. But really, aside from the fact that everything is tax-free, they have travel exclusive stuff -- stuff you'll only find in airports! Well, as I've said, NOT in our airports...

I always make sure to check out travel exclusives and the makeup sets and palettes like the ones you see in the magazines in the planes. I feel like those sets will give the most out of your money since you get a lot shades (in the case of an eyeshadow palette) in one. Oh, and I also make sure we have lots of time to spare and not miss our flight back home!!! I can still remember our little marathon in Hong Kong International Airport, running (with my 4-year-old then) to catch our flight back home. Oh goodness... *shivers*

Anyway, here are the stuff I got at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport:

*****
Dior Cannage Color Collection Eye Palette

THB1,730.00 or Php2,466.01

My rating: 4 stars
This is actually my first Dior makeup. I got it mainly because I wanted to try Dior. I've been eyeing their 5-Color Eyeshadow Eye Palettes but that would have cost me just the same or maybe a little more (retails for USD58.00 or Php2,552.93). So again, I got more shades with this and when you compute it, each shade cost me about Php310.00 only. Not bad, right? This palette has a lot of frost-finish shades which I'm not so crazy about but they're all usable so that's fine. I do love the purple and royal blue shades. Plus there weren't other palettes as nice as this one that time. Overall, I am happy with this purchase. Not super happy, but still, I like it.

NARS Plein Eté Mini Multiple Set

THB1,260.00 or Php1,796.05

Left to Right: South Beach, Orgasm & Copacabana

Left to Right: South Beach, Orgasm & Copacabana

My rating: 5 stars
This is a really great set! I've always wanted to get a Multiple Stick but I just couldn't commit as I find it too pricey for something I don't really need (retails for USD39.00 or Php1,672.61) and with this set, I get 3 shades to play with for (almost) the same price!!! These are small compared to a full-sized Multiple but I think it's just the perfect size as the full-sized one is really huge. I don't think I'd be able to finish up the whole thing before it turns rancid then I'd have to toss it away. I didn't have to think twice before putting this in my cart. It was the perfect solution to my commitment issue.

Maybelline Color Sensational Cream Gloss in Bengale Rose (175)
THB215.00 or Php304.61

My rating: 4 stars
This is a no-brainer purchase... I mean, who doesn't need another tube of lip gloss, right? I just wished they had more colors to choose from. Their display was practically empty and this was the "safest" color they had. I like how this gives a hint of fresh color when worn alone.

Left to Right: MAC Eyeshadow in Amber Lights & Rice Paper

THB555.00 or Php787.54 each

My rating: 5 stars
I've been dreaming of completing another 15-well MAC eyeshadow (empty) palette and I've asked other makeup artists of their MAC eyeshadow must-haves. These two were top contenders. These are really great shades!

My Mom and sister "forced" me to go to Duty Free when I came back. My sister was about to get married that time and she bought loads of alcohol for the reception party. She scored a lot of free bottles (and she gave me one too)!

I was so happy to see a MAC counter in our Duty Free! And what's more awesome is that their prices are almost the same as MAC's US retail prices! Eyeshadows were priced USD15.35 to USD15.50 while in MAC's website, it's USD14.50. The MAC Brush Cleanser, however, came out cheaper here than in the US website: USD11.00 vs. USD12.00! Wish I had that special VIP pass where I can just drop by Duty Free anytime I want to.
MAC Brush Cleanser MAC Eyeshadow in Soba (top) & Santin Taupe (bottom)

MAC Brush Cleanser - USD11.00 or 477.48

My rating: 4 stars
Great product, works well in cleaning brushes that uses powder products. For cream and liquid products, it is best to wash your brushes using baby shampoo or a dish-washing liquid detergent like Joy. It just doesn't take out all the product even if you clean them repeatedly -- which means wasting a lot of brush cleanser.

Left to Right: MAC Eyeshadow in Satin Taupe & Soba

Left to Right: Satin Taupe & Soba

MAC Eyeshadow in Satin Taupe - USD15.35 or Php666.30

MAC Eyeshadow in Soba - USD15.50 or Php672.81

My rating: 5 stars
Again, these shades are staples. I just find it weird that they cost differently...

Well, that's all for now... I still have a Singapore and Hong Kong makeup haul to blog about so keep posted! :)

xoxo

  1. Hey so was it the Bangkok airport that you paid 550 baht for the Mac eyeshadows? Where at? Everyone else says more expensive?
